Meditation Camps
Osho had begun in the mid-sixties to teach traditional quiet meditations, but soon realises they are inappropriate to the needs of modern people, full of neurotic forces ‘boiling within’. The ancient techniques, he explains, had been developed for a totally different kind of lifestyle, one where there was not much change, where life was more grounded and simple, where it was easy and natural for people to sit silently.
He notices that it is almost impossible for modern people to do that; their minds and bodies are too stressed and restless from living in the more hectic and constantly changing modern world.
