Sannyas

There are no rules or beliefs associated with his sannyas – the only requirement is a personal commitment to meditation, and (at the time) the wearing of orange robes and a mala. The robes and mala are to remind the person of their commitment to a new way of life. Osho also gives them new names if they want, as a device to help them leave behind their past and, in particular, their attachment to their old identity.
